As healthcare professionals we are well accustomed to offering care, compassion and kindness to others. If your medical education was anything like mine - you had years of lectures and skills training on everything from anatomy, physiology to pharmacology and surgery and more, all focused on patient centred care. While this is important, did you ever receive any training in how you might look after yourself in the process? How to cope with anxiety, doubt or exam failure in medicine? How to manage stress and cope with fatigue while on call? How to emotionally regulate when having a difficult conversation with a colleague or patient? How to leave work at work when you clock off and fully be present to your family at home. These are just some of the essential non-clinical skills required to thrive at work and in life as a healthcare professional.

Hi I'm Reena, and some years ago I burned out, struggling with stress, anxiety and depression while working on the frontline. I used tools from the areas of mindfulness, self-compassion, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, and lifestyle medicine to improve my wellbeing and discover my purpose - which is to help healthcare professionals thrive!
